Coaches & Judges

Our coaches play an extremely important part of N&DGC as they allow us to offer the range of programs that makes us accessible to all.  A large number of our coaches are sourced from within the club and it is one of the many advantages and attractions for members joining our club.  Our junior coach/judge training program offers many opportunities for both work and personal growth and leadership.

Why become a coach?

Many different people are drawn to coaching and they bring with them different ideas, personalities and methods of coaching. Coaches may enter the sport of gymnastics for a number of reasons, including:

  • Contribute to the growth of the sport.
  • Enjoy spending time with others.
  • Give something back to the sport if they have been a gymnast.
  • To see others improve their skills.
  • Employment / career opportunity

If you are interested in becoming a coach, please discuss this with our Head Coach.

Becoming a Judge?

All clubs need to provide qualified judges at every competition to attend. Becoming a judge is a great way to become involved in gymnastics without any prior experience needed. This is a great opportunity for parents to become more involved in their children’s sport. When judging you are allocated one apparatus and would be judging with at least one other judge. Judges progress from beginner through to advanced by attending courses held by Gymnastics Victoria.

Parents interested in learning more about being a judge are encouraged to speak to any committee member or the Head Coach.
